Description (merchant text, shortened)
Aggressive Backend on the Rocker AI Core
About the Rockstar Amped
The Roto Grip Rockstar Amped turns up the backend. It is the pearl version of the Rockstar, engineered for high performance with an aggressive, angular reaction that makes every shot count. Where the solid Rockstar grabs the mid-lane, the Amped saves its energy for a stronger move off the dry.
The Rockstar Amped pairs the symmetric Rocker AI Core with the NanoStar Pearl Reactive coverstock at a Power Edge polish, in a bold Purple and Red cosmetic. The higher-RG Rocker core adds length and stronger direction change, while the polished pearl cover clears the front of the lane and delivers a sharp, aggressive backend on medium to medium-heavy oil.
Understanding the Roto Grip Rocker AI Core and Roto Grip NanoStar Pearl Reactive
Roto Grip built the Rockstar Amped for length and a strong backend. Specifically, the symmetric Rocker AI Core revs up with a higher RG for added length and stronger direction change, while the NanoStar Pearl cover at a Power Edge polish conserves energy through the fronts and stores it for an aggressive move at the breakpoint. As a result, it clears the heads more easily than the solid Rockstar, then makes a sharper, more angular backend, ideal for medium to medium-heavy oil. The full per-weight specifications are listed below.
A Symmetric Core With Higher RG for Length and Direction Change
At the heart of the Rockstar Amped is the symmetric Rocker AI Core, the same engine as the solid Rockstar. At 15 lb it measures RG 2.48 and a strong .050 differential, numbers that produce heavy flare and a powerful but readable motion. As a symmetric core, it reads the lane predictably and repeats the same shape shot after shot, giving you strong backend without the layout sensitivity of an asymmetric piece.
On the Amped, that strong core is paired with a polished pearl cover, so the power comes with extra length and a sharper, more angular finish. The Rocker core's higher RG holds energy through the fronts and changes direction strongly off the dry, which is what gives the Amped its aggressive backend.
A Polished Pearl for Clean Length and an Aggressive Backend
The Rockstar Amped wraps that core in the NanoStar Pearl Reactive coverstock, finished at Power Edge polish. The pearl additive and polished surface conserve energy through the front of the lane, so the Amped pushes cleanly through the heads, then makes a sharp, aggressive move when it reaches the friction. It reads later and more angular than the sanded, solid Rockstar.
That length-and-angle shape is what makes the Amped so effective on medium to medium-heavy oil and in transition. When the solid Rockstar starts reading too early, the polished NanoStar Pearl gets the ball down the lane and still finishes with a strong backend. Leave it polished for the most length and angle, or take the surface down at your pro shop for an earlier, smoother read when the oil increases.
