Description (merchant text, shortened)
A Straight-Shooting Polyester Spare Ball
About the OTB Spare
The Motiv OTB spare balls deliver predictable spare shooting in designs themed after Motiv's most popular performance balls. As a polyester ball, this OTB spare travels straight to your target regardless of the oil pattern, so you can take the lane out of the equation and focus on hitting your mark, the dependable spare tool every arsenal needs.
This OTB spare pairs a simple, low-flare 3-piece core with a polyester (plastic) coverstock. Plastic is the least aggressive coverstock material, so the ball ignores the oil and goes exactly where you aim it, the standard for confident spare conversions and a great match to its performance-ball namesake.
Understanding the 3 Piece Core and Polyester (Plastic)
Motiv built the OTB spare balls to go straight. Specifically, the simple 3-piece core has a high RG and almost no differential, so the ball produces essentially zero track flare, while the polyester cover generates very little friction with the lane. As a result, this OTB spare holds a true, predictable line regardless of the oil pattern, exactly what you want when shooting spares.
A Simple, Low-Flare Core Built to Go Straight
This OTB spare uses a simple 3-piece core with a high RG and almost no differential, numbers that produce essentially zero track flare. That is exactly what you want in a spare ball: the core resists hooking, so the ball holds a true, predictable line straight to your spare.
Because it does not flare, the OTB spare rolls on a straight path regardless of the oil pattern. You can throw the same straight shot at every single-pin and corner-pin spare and trust it to get there, the foundation of confident spare shooting.
A Durable Polyester Cover With Minimal Friction
This OTB spare is finished with a polyester (plastic) coverstock. Polyester is the least aggressive coverstock material, so it generates very little friction with the lane. The result is a clean, straight reaction that ignores the oil and goes where you aim it.
That minimal friction is exactly why plastic is the standard for spare shooting. The OTB spare pushes straight through the fronts and resists the hook of a reactive ball, so you can line up your spares with confidence. Polyester is also extremely durable, making it a long-lasting, dependable tool in any bag, and a fun way to match your favorite Motiv performance ball.
