Description (merchant text, shortened)

A Smooth, Controllable Symmetric for Medium Oil

About the Dark Side Curse

The DV8 Dark Side Curse is a smooth, controllable symmetric benchmark for medium oil. It pairs the symmetric Duality Core with the solid Inciter Solid coverstock, so it reads the lane evenly and makes a predictable, continuous move. It is an easy-to-control piece that handles medium conditions and adjusts up as the oil increases.

The Dark Side Curse is built around control. The symmetric Duality core has a higher RG and a moderate differential, so it rolls smooth with manageable flare instead of jumping at the breakpoint. The solid Inciter cover gives it traction without overreacting, making the Dark Side Curse a dependable benchmark for medium oil and a great fit for players who want a forgiving, readable reaction.

Understanding the DV8 Duality Core and DV8 Inciter Solid Reactive

DV8 built the Dark Side Curse as a smooth, controllable symmetric for medium oil. Specifically, the symmetric Duality Core posts a 2.480 RG and a .036 differential, numbers that produce an even roll with manageable flare, while the Inciter Solid cover reads the lane without overreacting. As a result, it gives you a predictable, continuous motion that handles medium oil and adjusts up with a surface change. The per-weight specifications are listed below.

A Symmetric Core for a Smooth, Controllable Roll

At the heart of the Dark Side Curse is the symmetric Duality Core. At 15 lb it measures a 2.480 RG and a .036 differential, numbers that produce a smooth, even roll with manageable flare. The moderate differential keeps the motion controllable rather than sharp, which is exactly what makes the Dark Side Curse easy to read and repeat.

DV8 wraps the Duality core in DynamiCore for added durability and a stronger hitting ball, along with the patent-pending Durability Optimization Technology (DOT). That smooth, predictable roll is the Dark Side Curse's strength: it reads the lane the same way shot after shot, so it is easy to line up and trust on medium oil.

A Solid Reactive Cover With Controllable Traction

The Dark Side Curse wraps that core in DV8's Inciter Solid Reactive coverstock at a 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Factory Compound finish. The solid cover provides clean, controllable traction, so the ball reads the midlane on medium oil and makes a continuous move without overreacting at the breakpoint.

That controllable read is what makes the Dark Side Curse such a versatile medium-oil benchmark. Leave it at the box finish for medium oil, take the surface lower for more traction when the volume climbs, or polish it up for more length when the lanes dry. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
